I think data collection and excel tools are very useful for teachers. For example, if I were teaching third grade math, I could do surveys to collect data at the beginning of the year about what students already know or what they may be struggling with. Also, surveys could be used as projects or assignments for students to conduct. Excel could be used for many things such as attendance and a gradebook. Multiple sheets on excel allows for separation such as grades for tests, quizzes, or projects. Also, excel keeps everything very organized to go back and look at for further use.
Viewing classmate’s blogs allows me to think of more ideas about a certain topic. It also allowed me to see how other people interpret the questions differently than I do. From the blogs, I was able to learn new tools and ideas that could be used in future classrooms. I really like being able to see what other people think and expand my knowledge on whatever topic the blog is about.
Another technology related skill I would like to learn is Photoshop skills. I have worked with Photoshop a little bit in a photography class in high school, but I know there is so much more to learn. Photoshop skills can be useful for almost every field of study. Photoshop can be used to make so many different cool things and I would love to know how to do it. A way to learn this skill is to watch video tutorials or find resources on campus that can help.
