The ELA technology standard that
I would feel most prepared teaching is the “Multimedia:” Science/Technical Subjects
standard. I feel very confident in the skills included in this standard such
as, tables, charts, and graphs. I feel as though I would truly be able to teach
students about this with the knowledge I already have. A standard that would
require more learning for me would be the “Multimedia:” Literature one. I am
not as confident in my literature skills and would definitely need some
practice on some aspects, such as analyzing the meaning and tone of text.
While creating my newsletter, a new skill I learned was where to find pictures that were licensed with all creative commons. These photos could be used without having to cite where they came from. I think this is a very useful thing to do because you don’t have to waste time or space on your document citing where the picture came from. These photos are open for public use and are very helpful when doing an assignment such as the newsletter. Now that I know how to access these pictures it will allow me to use them in more of my assignments in the future. As a teacher, many graphics and pictures are used and it is important that they are properly cited. With these creative commons pictures, it is an easy way to access pictures that are free to be used without any citation. I have attached a screenshot of the first page of my newsletter.
